The Rev. Connie Gordon was born and
raised in Colorado Springs, Co. She
attended Westminster College in Salt Lake City
where she earned her Bachelors of Science in 1987 and her M.Div. from the
University of the South in Sewanee,
TN in 2005. She was ordained to the transitional
deaconate on St. Barnabas’ Day 2005 at the Cathedral Church of St. Mark by the
Rt. Rev. Carolyn Tanner Irish and to the Priesthood on April 19, 2006. Mother Connie came to St. Barnabas Church in
August of 2005 as a transitional deacon and Curate. With the retirement of our Priest in Charge
in February, she is now Priest in Charge at St. Barnabas.
Connie
has been married to James Gordon since 1987 and they have two daughters, Mariah
and Rachael. James is one of our J2A
leaders, lector, and is on the Commission of Ministry for the Diocese of
Utah. Like all members of St. Barnabas, James
can be found pitching in wherever there is a need. Both Mariah and Rachael have quickly found
their places at St. Barnabas, both participating in J2A, choir, altar guild, and
diocesan youth events.
Outside of ministry and family
responsibilities, Connie enjoys quilting, walking and playing with the dogs, reading
with the cats, and tending to a planted and reef aquariums. She enjoys cooking, home improvement, golf and
Utah’s outdoor
activities.
